NEXT PRODUCTION

Under Milk Wood

1 – 3 June 2023

The HAODS Studio, 19a New Street, Henley on Thames  RG9 2JP

Under Milk Wood is a 1954 radio drama, dubbed “a play for voices” by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, commissioned by the BBC and later adapted for the stage.  In this presentation several omniscient narrators invite the audience to listen to the dreams and innermost thoughts of the inhabitants of the fictional small Welsh fishing village, Llareggub, (buggerall spelt backwards!).  They include Mrs. Ogmore-Pritchard, relentlessly nagging her two dead husbands; Captain Cat, reliving his seafaring times; the two Mrs. Dai Breads; Organ Morgan, obsessed with his music; and Polly Garter, pining for her dead lover. Later, the town awakens, and, aware now of how their feelings affect whatever they do, we watch them go about their daily business.

Our Director, Eileen Pinkarchevski, will be using  her skilled influence to bring these wonderful, classic characters to life in this production in the intimate surroundings of the HAODS Studio as a Fringe Production.

For lovers of poetic prose and Welsh cakes!
